Thank you for your reply!:)

In fact, I found voodoo3's video playback quality is quite good, even better than radeon7000 and G400 in playing low bitrate divx/xivd avi file(eg. a TVrip with 900Kbps video bitrate)
So, it's regretful that there is no overlay adjustment in 2K/XP driver[:(]
I do not see problem here. Each codec has gamma, brightness and saturation controls. There is no need to tweak drivers for video overlay setings to be available - you really don't need them. Amigamerlin and Amigasport drivers are great. I use Amigasport XP on V3 2000 PCI SGRAM and they work great.:)

nearly most codecs have those controls, but some others, such as rm&rmvb, have none of such settings.

Voodoo3 have perfect Video Playback!!! You CAN can have Video Overlay in Win2k/XP as I said before(I guess someone from driver team should see this and implement in the next revision of driver for Voodoo3 ;) )

AmigaSport core is old 3dfx driver 3dfxvs.dll & 3dfxvsm.sys from 3dHQ...so you must use 3dfxvs.dll from AmigaMerlin's 3.0 and put it in your system32 folder and there you go, Video Overlay is here! But other bad thing is that you cannot have d3d then :(

Thank you so much! That's very what I want!
And, luckily, I seldom play 3D game:D

PS: I have read your posts, and it seems not easy to implement this function in Voodoo3's driver

I have a voodoo3 3000 under windows XP, which is driven by AmigaSport 3.0XP. It works pretty well in 3DMark2001 and DiabloII.

However, In the 3dfx tools->3dfx color tab
the selection of "video overlay" is grey
so, how can I adjust overlay settings?

BTW: which driver is best choice if I only use voodoo3 for video playback?(Do NOT consider 3D performance)

My system:
Voodoo3 3000 WITHOUT TV-out
Athlon thunderbird 1G
Iwill KK266(via KT133A)
SDRAM PC133 256*2
Windows XP with SP1
