Title: Just got a V5 5500, where do i start?
Post by: Vanne on 01 July 2008, 03:56:24
Hi,

Just got myself a 3dfx V5 5500 AGP card :D and am building a system to replay all the older games from my past.

The specs i have so far for my build:
*Tyan S230t dual S370 Via Apollo Pro 133mobo
* 2 x S370 1.2ghz Intel Tualatins
* 1 GB 133 SDram

It looks like ill be intstalling Win2k, but where do i go after the bare 2K install? what voodoo drivers to i need to install for the V5? is there an FAQ?

Whats MesaFX and i know about glide, i had a V3 3000 card years ago in my old amd box. But iam kinda lost, sooo many different drivers? so many different utils.. can someone please point me in the right direction?

kind regards

I suggest you to install XP and latest SFFT, or win98 and latest official beta drivers for max compatibility with old games

if you dont need extra d3d compatibility you can go with the latest original 3dfx driver for win2000..here: http://www.falconfly.de/vsa100.htm
