Title: voodoo2 PCI setup under wxp
Post by: sYn on 14 January 2004, 13:44:07
Hi :D,

I'm trying to use 2 screens/gcards under wxp, so, ive an agp gcard (geforce fx 5700u) and a secondary pci gcard (1st pci slot), a voodoo2...
ive downloaded FastVoodoo2 for winxp and the card has been installed but, nothing apear on the second screen.
ive tried to boot without the agp-gcard and nothing, nothing, nothing...
i dont know if i need to do something about installing multi-gcards under winxp?
is there any driver problem?

i need you ;)

bye :D

This will not work, unless the GF has dual monitor outs. The Voodoo 2 is an add-on 3d accelerator, and not capable of displaying 2D textures, such as your windows desktop. The Voodoo 2 will only be used when the 3dfx Glide API is used, in which case the GF will not be used. In order to properly use this card, you must connect a monitor extension cable to the female output of the GF and the male input of the V2, this will send 2D images through the V2, so you don't have to switch cables/monitors when(if) you use any Glide programs.

QuoteThis will not work
This will work and only with the w2k beta 1.00 driver and because this is in a multi-monitor setup.
You will use the card like any standard 2D card and not like a multimedia device.
But no support for the Sli, no support for Glide or OpenGl...
