Post by: Jagged_Little_Pill on 12 August 2007, 02:37:27
Hi! Well i guess i should explain my issue and im only asking because im desperate ive googled, looked in forums, ive looked in many places.

I have an issue with playing expansion packs of the "Sims 2" that were released after "Open for Business" expansion pack.

I have the issue of flashing red walls i think thats because my graphics card is not transform & lighting. Also i realize that i should get a new video card and when im old enough to get a job i will haha But i dont play many games only the sims 2 really.

Anyways the point is can i use 3D-Analyze to run the new-er expansions of the sims 2, to prevent the red flashing walls and textures?

and if it is possible what do i do? PLEASE help me haha

Are you tmay_99 (http://forums.viaarena.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=79731&enterthread=y) ?

edit :
What are the system requirements ?

Ehm, some Sims2 expansion packs (like Nightlife) support T&L and non-T&L capable video cards but also only "some" video cards (Ati, Nvidia, Intel Extreme).
I wonder if the problem is that S3 is unsupported. (?)

Well ive done research and the card isnt supported...but i don't have any money for a new one yet

Hence why i asked if i could use 3d-analyze to emulate a better graphics card

Also i checked on http://www.sims2wiki.info/ for help, and it said that if your card isnt supported you need at least a 2.4 GHZ processor but mine is 2.8 GHZ...

Hmm i guess that ill just have to get a new graphics card....eventually haha

Ok, i read that
QuoteRed Flashing Walls
Flashing red walls after installing a Stuff Pack or Expansion Pack

Many users have reported that walls, floors, and foundations flash red after installing one of the stuff packs or expansion packs (Glamour Life Stuff, Family Fun Stuff, or Pets). This is due to increased system requirements as new packs are released. This issue is more common with stuff packs, where the requirements are more precise, and less graphics cards are supported, but also happens with expansion packs with lower-end/unsupported graphics cards.

If you install a new pack and you have an unsupported graphics card, you will experience flashing red walls.

edit : 3DAnalyzer can emulate T&L
Try this link (https://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/articles/3d_analyze_user_guide/), please

And tell us if you have in the game, any config. file where you can read the supported gfx cards.

Oh i downloaded 3D-Analyze and well...it doesnt really do anything

I don't mean to sound rude about it but i followed all the instructions given for it

I also tried just the to just emulate TnL but it does not start the sims 2 or anything other expansion...

It starts other games like World of Warcraft

Hmm maybe i should reinstall the sims 2 =[

Did you try to fill the text boxes VendorID and DeviceID too and then to emulate TnL ?
