Post by: skinnie on 06 March 2006, 23:11:00
Hi Guys I am "building" and oldschool machine around my mmx 200 sse if my choices are good, and what would you modify in the things I'll buy..
I'll buy a DFI k6bv3+
for 2d a matrox millenium II 8mb (i'm not sure..it's from a friend)
I'll buy another voodoo 2 to put in SLi with my STB BlackMAgic..I think I'll get a Trust one..it is black too :)
I have an awe 32 non lite version
17" Jean Monitor (When I have money maybe I'll get other because this monitor is a little damage)
My drives are an Asus 50x and a Lg cdrw 16x10x40x.
my mouse is an logitech usb
do you think there anything better for my mmx 200?I have the chance to get a rivaa 128zx instead of the matrox..bue I think the matrox is better...
FOrget to say I have 64mbx2 pc133

If you can find a DFI K6BV3+/66 , you will get support for UDMA/66.

Good luck with building your Glide machine.
If you are going to buy the parts you might want to buy PIII parts.
Some of the last Glide games that were released will play better on a PIII system.

-Glide System-
Asus P3B-F Intel 440BX chipset
Intel PIII 650
128 Mb PC100 Corsair SDRAM
40 Gb Hitachi ATA100 7200 RPM HD
Mitsumi 48X CD-ROM
Windows 98se
Diamond Viper 770 Ultra 32Mb AGP
Diamond Monster 3D II 24Mb SLI
Sound Blaster AWE 64 Gold
MS SideWinder Precision Pro Joystick
US Robotics 56K V.90 Fax/Modem w/voice
KTI KF-230TX 10/100 NIC
Linksys WUSB54G USB Wireless Network Adaptor

I didn't buy most of this stuff because I had it left over from my Glide days, as a matter of face I only replaced the HD and added the USB wireless network adaptor to the system. I'm glad I didn't sell off all me stuff since I love having a Glide system now.

try find a 266 or 300 k6-II or III... they are really cheap plus they have 3Dnow! extensions, helping your SLI a lot :)
