Post by: Teff on 13 December 2005, 13:00:34
Hi,everybody!!!!!!!!!!:)
I have just bought a second-handed LCD monitor,
and my Voodoo3 2000(8MB) support it!!!!! :D
However, when I send the resolution of the monitor to 800x600,
it comes a black screen with red words "out of range"!!!!
But, when I send the resolution to 640x480, 1024x468 will not have this problem!!!!!!![xx(]
Anybody tell me why!!!!!!!!![B)]
Please help me!!!!!!!![V]
P.S.
My refresh rate is sent to 75Hz(the limit of my monitor).

At 800x600 the refresh rate is probably changed also, to a rate that the LCD does not support (and that is my best guess)
Try changing resolusion from a 60Hz refresh rate

the LCD probably cannot interpolate 800x600 either.  either way, the screen is going to look TERRIBLE in any mode other than the one the screen is sized for.

LCD don't need high refresh rate, 60Hz is enough...
have you tried power strip?

have you installed the monitors .inf file yet?  this will tell windows what resolutions and refresh rates the monitor can handle automatically.

do you have the .inf file?  download it from the manufacturers website, or it would come on a disk with the monitor.   use the control panel to install.  right clicking on the file then scrolling down to INSTALL in the popup menu SOMETIMES works.
