Title: 3dfx Voodoo Graphics
Post by: HN on 21 August 2003, 00:38:43
Is the first time I'm contact with you.:)

[:0] I'm not a expert in computers (maybe the reason why I can't install the Voodoo).
[:(] So, I change from W98 to W2000, and the drivers I have are just to W95, W98 and WNT. I check in some sites (voodoofiles.com) and I found some files to install the Voodoo. The instalation was everythink Ok because don't happen any problem, but when I try to play a game (Colin McRae 1) this games don't run, and I don't have the screen 3DFX to change the colors, resolution (like when I have W98).

If some one can give an idea what I doing, or not doing please let me know.

thanks very much.:D
Regards,
HN

Get the 3dhq Beta 10's. Location: http://www.falconfly.de/vsa100.htm
Understand that these are for VSA 100 chipsets only, i.e. Voodoo 4/5

HN, the drivers for the Voodoo Graphics for Windows 2000 are only Glide capable. If the game you want to play is Direct3D or OpenGL, you're not gonna have accerelation from your Voodoo Graphics.
The drivers that support the three APIs Glide/OpenGL/D3D are only for Windows 9x.

Sorry, the driver is Glide and OpenGl capable (like for the Voodoo2)

If the card is a VoodooGrahics (Voodoo1), the 3dhq Beta's 10 are not compatible...

@ HN :
- between us why did you change from Win98 to Win2k ?
- under Win2k/WinXP, you don't have the control panel , you must find an utility...

ps : useless to post in 2 sections, the section Voodoo 1 is appropriate... ;)

Nightbird,
Thank you for your answer.
Just another question (for now), when you say: "I must find an utility", wath you want to say, and who can I do that?

Note: when I do the test of the voodoo, there is no problem, and the system tell me it works normaly.

Thanks again.

hum, Anthony Toste himself said
"The Best Voodoo Control Panel for NT is APK 3Dfx Tuning Engine 2000++ "

frankly, i don't know how it works and this is perhaps a shareware

question : "the test of the voodoo" what do you mean ?

Is, when you go to "Control Panel" and choise "System" "hardware" "Device Manager", you find the Voodoo and run Properties.

Another question.
I found in this site some think name "3Dcharge - 3dfx Voodoo1/2/3/4/5/Banshee tweaker" and then "3Dcharge - 3dfx hardware tweaker", maybe this make work my voodoo in 3D.
But there is a lot of files, like:
Driver OpenGL prodotto
ver. 2.3
ver. 2.31
ver. 2.99
ver. 3.02 ,
and Driver OpenGL prodotto da 3dfx
ver. 1.46
ver.1.47
ver.1.48
ver.1.49

If anyone knows the correct file to install, please tell me, I appreciate very much. (maybe this is the solution).

v 2.3, 2.31, 2.99, 3.02 : different versions of WickedGL for the V2/V3/V4/V5 and Banshee

v1.46, 1.47, 1.48 and 1.49 : there are the minigl's

Your Voodoo can't work in D3D under Win2k/NT4/XP ; this is simply not possible
If you want to play in D3D with your Voodoo, that will be under Win9x, this is the only solution

About ColinMacRaye 1 is ist a game D3D, Glide ?
