Hi hi hi
I just made a quick little video with instructions how to remove a voodoo 5 heatsink in the easiest manner:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqiS7SLPDz0
Basically using compressed air to freeze the heatsinks & the awful STB thermal glue, and they pop off nicely.
You *should not* put the cards in the freezer like some folks did. These can agitate the hard-to-replace surface mount electrolytic capacitors (as well as the surface mount OSCON polymers to a degree).
I always did the freezer trick
never thought of doing it like that.
will try
just tried it
it's a lot better then the freezer trick, that and the old glue came with the sink, it a lot faster too
