Title: Diamond Mega Monster setup
Post by: Jackhead on 12 May 2011, 15:23:25
Hi,

i want build up an win98se desktop with Asus P2B board (AGP).
Back in the "3dfx days" i used a Diamond Monster 3d II in SLI.

Now i want same setup again.
My Problem is, i dont remember the 2d graphics card i used. Im pretty sure it was a ISA or PCI pcb. To safe a slot will be nice to use a AGP card.

the mega monster setup needs a 2d graphics card without 3d support?
Or can i use any graphics card i want???

Hope you guys can help.
regards
Chris

You can use any graphics card you like ( or to be more specific : any card that runs in your mainboard ).
But I would advise not to use a 3dfx card as a primary VGA (e.g. Banshee) as you would possible run into driver problems.
Back in the days I had a TNT2 as primary card with a single Voodoo2.
Later on it was a Geforce3.
Currently I am building a retro-rig, which will contain 2 Voodoo2´s.
Primary card there is a Matrox Parhelia.
