What's new?
This
Amigamerlin latest release does get benefit by newer SFFT
driver core to improve hardware compatibility
with Direct3D based games and new Glide3X and MesaFX v. 6.2.0.2
libraries. These last make possible running GLide and OpenGL
games at higher frame rates than previous our drivers, if your
cpu is not a bottle neck for system, of course. Doom3 players
must continue to use MesaFX v. 6.2.0.1:
it's specifically written for this game and is included in AM
3.1 R1 package.
New settings for Direct3D and GLide/OpenGL
This
kit is named as full version because
it is shipped with both VSA-100(s) driver and 3dfx Tools like
control panel. It has now an utilities set to switch D3D
Render Mode from DirectX 7 mode to DirectX 8 and vice versa: this
addon is very useful to enlarge supported games range shaping your
system to these. Besides, 3dfx Tools have now a new setting to
enableTemporal AntiAliasing with
GLide/OpenGL based games.
Driver installation
Amigamerlin
3.1 R1 does not support standard installation procedure via setup
file: so you must choose Update Video Card
Driver in Device Manager under
Windows Control Panel. Then can reboot your pc and install 3dfx
Tools as you know. For other info about this step and help
requests, please do not send emails to us but use support forums
for both english and italian users.
Hardware and Software Requirements
Amigamerlin 3.1 R1 supports 3dfx Voodoo4 4500, Voodoo5 5500 and Voodoo5 6000 in systems running Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP OSes.
