Con il comunicato stampa che vi proponiamo di seguito in forma integrale, il produttore di motherboard MSI ha annunciato ufficialmente che tutte le sue motherboard AMD 400-Series (prodotti basati su X470, B450, MAX e non MAX) sono compatibili con i processori Ryzen 5000 basati sull'architettura Zen 3.

Tuttavia, affinchè sia realmente possibile impiegare con successo una CPU della linea Ryzen 5000 con una motherboard 400-Series è necessario attendere che lo sviluppo di MSI rilasci una versione aggiornata del BIOS, la cui disponibilità è annunciata per il mese di gennaio 2021.

Nello stesso comunicato MSI ha chiarito che la tempistica di cui sopra dipende dalla tempistica di rilascio del software AGESA, il cui sviluppo è in carico ad AMD.

Parimenti, i possessori di motherboard AMD 500-Series devono aggiornare AGESA alla versione 1.0.8.0 affinchè il sistema possa avviarsi correttamente, e alla versione 11.0.0 (o più recente) per ottenere prestazioni ottimali.

Nessuna buona nuova, invece, in merito alle motherboard AMD 300-Series, in merito alle quali AMD ha a suo tempo comunicato ai partner la mancanza di supporto dei processori Ryzen 5000.

AMD has officially announced Zen 3 architecture Ryzen 5000 series processors on October 8th. The latest Zen 3 processors have significant performance improvements compared to the previous 7 nm Ryzen 3000 series processors. For the upcoming processors, MSI has released the latest AGESA COMBO PI V2 1.1.0.0 for all X570 and B550 series motherboards to perfectly utilize the PCI-E 4.0 performance.

In response to the upgrade demands, AMD also mentioned the BIOS update for selected 400 series motherboards to support Ryzen 5000 series processors will be ready in January 2021. To respond to our users' anticipation, MSI is announcing that all 400 series motherboards, including X470 and B450, MAX, or non-MAX products, will provide BIOS updates later on that can support Ryzen 5000 processors. All the evaluation is in progress under the R&D team. A detailed BIOS release schedule will be announced after the BIOS code is provided by AMD.

Regarding the 300 series motherboards, including X370, B350, and A320 chips, AMD's current official information points out that they are not supported. If AMD makes any official updates later, MSI will also provide the latest information on time.
