Mediante il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, VIA ha annunciato il nuovo chip-set P4M900, progettato per l'utilizzo in abbinamento ai processori Intel Core Duo con FSB a 1066MHz, alle memorie DDR2 con clock fino a 667MHz e alle schede grafiche PCI-Express di ultima generazione.

Il chip-set integra il chip grafico VIA Chrome9 che è compatibile con le API DirectX 9 di Microsoft ed è dotato di supporto per Pixel Shader 2.0. L'abbinamento al South Bridge VT8251, che include la tecnologia proprietaria Vinyl Multichannel Audio, garantisce la conformità con High Definition Audio a una risoluzione pari a 32-bit/192kHz.
