Anche VIA ha allineato il suo listino con i prodotti in ambito chip-set dedicati al supporto della piattaforma AM2 di AMD: il costruttore taiwanense ha infatti realizzato una nuova gamma di chip, che va dal top di gamma K8T900 - compatibile con la tecnologia SLI di nVIDIA - alla versione di fascia bassa K8M890, pronta per l'utilizzo in abbinamento a Windows Vista e dotata di chip-grafico integrato.

To accommodate the latest platform features and rising system bandwidth requirements, AMD's transition to socket AM2 will enable a new wave of innovation on AMD64 based systems featuring AMD Virtualization and high-performance DDR2 memory.
