Con il seguente comunicato stampa HIS ha annunciato una nuova soluzione, nell'ambito delle sue video card Radeon appartenenti alla linea 6800, denominata HIS 6870 IceQ 1GB GDDR5 (cfr. le foto seguenti).

La HIS 6870 IceQ 1GB GDDR5 di HIS è basata sulla gpu AMD Radeon HD 6870 ed è equipaggiata con 1GB di RAM G-DDR5, mentre il bus che collega tali componenti è a 256-bit. Nonostante l'imponente cooler custom, sia il core grafico che la RAM operano alle frequenze di clock previste dal design reference, ovvero a 900MHz e 1050MHz (o 4200MHz in valore effettivo) rispettivamente.

La video card HIS 6870 IceQ 1GB GDDR5 è dominata dal suo cooler basato sulla tecnologia proprietaria IceQ, che promette efficienza e silenziosità ai massimi livelli, oltreché stabilità in regime di overclock. Un'amplissima struttura lamellare, a cui sono connesse quattro heat pipe, e una guida capace, con l'ausilio di una ventola della dimensioni notevoli, di allontanare l'aria calda che circonda la scheda costituiscono il sistema di raffreddamento (questa feature è denominata "Black Hole Impeller" dal produttore, ndr).

La HIS 6870 IceQ 1GB GDDR5 assorbe potenza dalla PSU mediante due connettori a 6-pin, mentre il set di connettori di uscita include due porte DVI, una HDMI 1.4 e due mini-DisplayPort 1.2. La card è inoltre dotata di un connettore CrossFire per il collegamento in multi-gpu con un'altra scheda video della linea 6800.
