Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, MSI ha lanciato ufficialmente la scheda grafica denominata R5670-PD512, una soluzione in formato low-profile, basata sulla gpu ATI Radeon HD5670 ed equipaggiata con un cooler a doppia ventola.

In accordo al produttore, la nuova Radeon è stata progettata per rispondere in pieno alle esigenze di coloro che assemblano un sistema di tipo HTPC (Home Theater PC), e dunque necessitano di un controller grafico di ridotte dimensioni dal punto di vista fisico, e, nello stesso tempo, puntano a buone prestazioni in ambito gaming.

La gpu della ATI Radeon HD5670 di MSI lavora a 775MHz mentre la memoria RAM (512MB di G-DDR5) a 4040MHz; il bus che interconnette tali componenti è a 128-bit.

Tra le feature della video card, MSI segnala la realizzazione del prodotto in tecnologia "Military Class Concept", ovvero con l'adozione di componenti di elevata qualità, ed in particolare di condensatori e induttori a stato solido, al fine di massimizzare la durata della vita fisica della scheda e di ottimizzarne la risposta in overclock (questo regime può essere gestito agevolmente mediante l'utility Afterburner).

E' ricca la dotazione di porte di uscita che include una D-Sub, una DisplayPort e una Dual-link DVI; inoltre, la connessione HDMI è supportata mediante un adapter DVI to HDMI incluso nel bundle.
