Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, TUL Corporation ha annunciato la video card ad alte prestazioni PowerColor PCS++ HD5870, che, in accordo alla denominazione commerciale, va ad ampliare la gamma di soluzioni PCS++, notoriamente caratterizzate dalla operatività in regime di overclocking "by factory", ovvero impostato dal produttore.
La frequenza di clock della gpu è pari infatti a 950MHz mentre la RAM (1GB di G-DDR5) lavora a 1200MHz (4.8Gbps); il bus di collegamento tra core grafico e VRAM è a 256-bit. Inoltre, la dotazione di porte di uscita include una Dual DL-DVI, una HDMI e una Display Port.
La stabilità operativa, a fronte dell'overclocking nativo, è ottenuta con l'ausilio di un cooler customizzato, realizzato in rame e dotato di una ventola da 92mm e di quattro heat pite: in accordo al maker, questo sistema di raffreddamento risulta più silenzioso di quello reference, pur essendo più efficiente, poichè riduce di 15°C la temperatura di esercizio, a parità di condizioni operative ossia di carico computazionale e condizioni ambientali.
La scheda grafica PowerColor PCS++ HD5870, nel cui bundle è compreso il racing game, basato su DirectX 11, DiRT2, sarà commercializzata il prossimo 20 aprile, accompagnata da un MSRP pari a $449.
