Con le nuove BI P45-T2RS Elite e BI P45-T2S Elite il board maker DFI ha annunciato una linea di motherboard mainstream progettate espressamente per l'operatività in overclock, con l'intento di proporre delle soluzioni in grado di offrire agli utenti un elevato livello prestazione, pur essendo accompagnate da un costo contenuto (l'MSRP è inferiore alla soglia dei $110, ndr).

Entrambe le motherboard sono basate sul chipset Intel P45 e supportano le cpu Intel Core2 Extreme/ Quad/ Duo, con socket LGA-775 e FSB fino a 1333MHz, e le memorie RAM DDR2 operanti ad una frequenza pari a 667/800/1066MHz. La BI P45-T2RS Elite include, a differenza della BI P45-T2S Elite, il supporto della modalità RAID.

Tra le porte di I/O segnaliamo la dotazione di uno slot PCI-Express x16 e di 6 connettori SATA II mentre tra le tecnologie incluse nella linea BI P45-T2(R)S Elite si fanno notare il bios Genie, che prevede la possibilità di operare in modalità differenti ("Amateur mode" e "Expert mode") in funzione delle quali sono resi disponibili setting di setup molto diversi, orientati in un caso alla stabilità operativa e all'overclock nell'altro, e l'Auto Boost System (ABS), che permette l'overclock del processore durante la fase di boot semplicemente con la pressione di un tasto.
