Title: Normal temperature for v3 3000
Post by: Friday on 01 August 2003, 23:25:46
I have v3 3000 oveclocked to 190 Mhz. It's not so hot, because I put a 50mm fan on the heatsink (about 50°C on the gpu). But before I put the fan it was so damn hot (over 70°C for sure). Now, heatsink is about 25°C when i don't play games, and about 35-40°C when I play something. Im satisfied with these numbers, but does anyone what is the normal working temperature for these cards when they are not overclocked? (and without fan)

The top of the plastic encapsulation can reach about 80 deg. C, the junction temp on the die is about 125 deg. C. You would have to put the probe directly on the plastic to measure this. We had to drill a hole through the metal heat-sink.

You should be safe with what you have now.
