NHL 2000 PC Patch #2
This Patch for NHL 2000 can now be downloaded, it corrects and improves a number of issues that were discovered after releasing the game. We apologize for the delays on the release of this patch.
Note that the Matchup Server (NHL 2000 Lobby) connection problem was fixed on the Server end - no patch is necessary to connect reliably to the NHL 2000 Lobby.
The issues addressed in the patch include:
1. Fixed the crowd chants for Carolina and Calgary.
2. Fixed the bug where the player and goalie boost sliders would get reset to the global settings in Season, Tournament, and Playoffs.
3. Decreasing the lag in multiplayer games (Internet, Modem, & LAN).
4. After entering any mode of single player gameplay, then playing a multiplayer game the game would desynch.
5. Improving the AI forechecking - both in even strength situations and on CPU powerplays.
6. Improving the defence so that they will attack the puck carrier better. As well a bug where 2on2 and 1on1 situations were not being detected properly will be fixed - the defence will now position themselves better so that you won't be able to blow by the defender as easily. Also defenders will now provide incidental contact to the puck carrier when near them, even if the defender has another target.
7. Positioning the goalies better for in-close shots -- so that the "cut across the net", "wrap around", and "modified Genesis deke" goals are a LOT less frequent. As well, the "hard shot from along the boards and trickling in" goal will also be a LOT less frequent.
8. Decreasing the number of penalty shots being awarded in the game.
9. Tweaking passing so that they are not as accurate every time. You should see more pucks being intercepted or deflected from its intended path.
10. Tweaking backhand shots to be less accurate than they currently are.
11. Decreasing injury occurrences during gameplay.
12. Fixing fatigue in Pro mode so that the players will actually get tired enough for you to have to use more than 2 lines.
13. Swapping fatigue status between Power play and Penalty Killing Lines.
14. Allowing you to knock the puck off of players skating backwards.
15. Eliminating the secondary fail-safe 3D card resolution check - this means that Voodoo 2 SLI configs (and other 3D cards that can actually go above 800x600 but can't in NHL 2000) will be able to go higher than 800x600.
16. Allowing access to the team based Player Boost and Goalie Boost sliders for the Commissioner in Season, Tournament, and Playoffs. This means that you can now adjust the boost sliders separately for each team in these modes, instead of only being able to adjust these sliders globally.
17. Changing 3Dsetup to recognize PowerVR 250 chipsets.
18. Correcting some language errors for Finnish.
19. Correcting a few arena team chants - they were swapped with each other. |
